What to expect on the workshop:

We will take inspiration from Scott's making/creative process and walk around the area surrounding the gallery, following our intuition for which way to go. On our walk we will collect images and found matter that inspire us, that we feel connected to, that make us think and return to our Mill 2 Gallery space to collage them onto aluminium sheets.

We will have a table set up in the Gallery, where Scott's exhibition fourteen days is currently on show, so it's a great chance to see the exhibition too!

Ideas of things you can collect/gather on our walk: sticks, photographs of textures or signage, bottle tops, leaves, bits of rubbish (who knows what we'll find!)

We'll have an area for cleaning off the things we find, and a printer available to print off images to stick onto our collages.

Background

Scott Brown is the current Artist in residence at 1853 Studios and Gallery, which has culminated in the exhibition 'fourteen days ' (on to July 26 - see here). Scott’s practice is led by intuition

“I take images and physical materials liberally and indiscriminately, from varied sources, and remix them into new combinations, searching always for affective traces in that which already exists.”
